New York City singer-songwriter Juliet Ivy has dropped her fantastic new single, ‘is it my face?’. Musically, it’s an instantly addictive blend of alt-pop, folk and indie with her gift for melodies sitting at the forefront of a sound defined by fast-paced drums and a tender acoustic guitar strum. Lyrically, she explains that ‘is it my face?’ is a “girlhood in a song. It encapsulates the complicated, scattered emotions of being a girl. Because I wrote it with another girl, we were able to put our heads together to perfectly describe the feminine feeling of being unwanted, unapproachable, and unnoticed.” The track is paired with a video created in collaboration with Sarah Bromley; it’s a perfect visual representation of the emotions detailed in her lyrics.
